The short version
- We don't collect any personal data. Dietbot has no account, no servers, no analytics and no ads.
- Your food log, water, weight and targets stay on your devices and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud.
- Speech recognition, image recognition, label reading and Apple Intelligence all run on your iPhone.
- Apple Health sync is optional, and Health data never leaves your devices through Dietbot.
Who we are
Dietbot is a calorie and nutrition logging app for iPhone made by Yusa Febriyan (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Dietbot app and this website.
Information we collect
None. Dietbot does not collect, transmit or store your personal data on any server we control, and we have no way to see what you eat, your weight, your voice, your photos or your questions. Dietbot does not use third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services. The food database is built into the app, so searching it never goes online.
Data stored on your device
Everything you add to Dietbot is saved on your iPhone, in storage that only Dietbot, its widgets and its Siri actions can read. This includes:
- Foods you log: name, portion, calories, nutrients, meal, date and the text you typed or spoke to log them.
- Water, weight and waist measurements.
- Your daily targets, weekly schedules and date overrides, and custom foods you create.
- Preferences such as units, appearance, text size and Face ID lock.
- How many free days you've used this month.
Photos of meals and labels are analyzed and then discarded; Dietbot keeps the foods you confirm, not the image.
iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud and iCloud Backup is on in Dietbot's settings, your food log, water, weight, targets and custom foods sync through your private iCloud database so they appear on your other devices and come back if you reinstall. This data is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and is not accessible to us. You can turn iCloud Backup off at any time in Settings → iCloud Backup.
Dietbot also keeps the number of free days used this month in iCloud key-value storage so it's the same on all your devices. It's private to your Apple Account. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple Health
If you turn on Settings → Sync with Apple Health, Dietbot adds the food energy, nutrients, water and weight you log to Apple Health, and reads your weight from Apple Health to show your progress. Health data is used only to provide these features. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with anyone, and never stored in iCloud by Dietbot. You can change access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Dietbot.
Apple Intelligence, speech and images
- Apple Intelligence. Understanding what you said, Insights summaries and Ask Dietbot use Apple's on-device language model. Your text and food log are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to us or to any server.
- Speech. When you speak a meal, the microphone is used only while you're recording, and the audio is transcribed on your iPhone. Audio isn't saved.
- Camera and photos. The camera is used only when you scan a meal, a barcode or a label. Photos are chosen through the system photo picker, so Dietbot sees only the image you pick. Images are analyzed on your iPhone.

Every permission is optional and can be changed in the iOS Settings app.
Purchases
Dietbot Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Dietbot checks your purchase on your iPhone using Apple's StoreKit, and Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymous sales reports. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.
Tracking and advertising
Dietbot doesn't track you across apps or websites, doesn't show ads and doesn't share data with data brokers.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability for a short period.
Your choices and rights
- Export your food log at any time with Settings → Export Food Log (CSV).
- Delete everything with Settings → Delete All Data, which removes your data from your iPhone and your iCloud, and optionally the samples Dietbot added to Apple Health.
- Stop syncing with Settings → iCloud Backup or Settings → Sync with Apple Health.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone; data in your iCloud stays until you delete it.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan or another region with data protection laws such as the GDPR, you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. Since we don't collect or hold personal data about you, we have none to provide or delete, and you can exercise these rights directly in the app as described above. You can also contact us or your local data protection authority with any concern.
Children
Dietbot is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Security
Your data is protected by iOS data protection on your device and by Apple's iCloud security in transit and at rest. You can add Face ID to the app for extra privacy.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Dietbot handles information, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
